Campaign Enables People to Share the Joy of Ramadan as Part of their Digital Lifestyles
Ooredoo Group is promoting a new regional campaign for Ramadan that supports the values, traditions and practices of the Holy Month with innovative digital technology.
The campaign, which incorporates inspiration from its operations across the Middle East, recognises the central role of mobile technology in connecting and reaching out to people during Ramadan. People of all ages use their mobile devices to share Ramadan greetings and connect with friends and family, and Ooredoo’s campaign is designed to make this process easier and more authentic.
At the heart of Ooredoo’s brand promise is the role the company plays in enabling customers to “Enjoy the Internet”, through world-class networks and incredible content. The Ramadan campaign brings this idea to life, with a host of digital options for customers tailored for the Holy Month.
As part of the campaign, customers can download a special digital keyboard with a Ramadan theme that provides access to a host of stickers, emoticons and icons to attach to their Ramadan greetings. Ooredoo has even signed an agreement with Snapchat that enables customers to share Ramadan greetings and experiences with a special Snapchat filter, available for the first time in Qatar.
In its first weeks, Ooredoo’s Ramadan campaign has recorded some impressive numbers, including more than 12.6 million views of its video on YouTube and other social media, more than 32,000 downloads for the digital keyboard, and a total reach of 12 million people on Facebook, 3.5 million on Instagram and 760,000 on Twitter.
A special television commercial, featuring talent from Qatar, Kuwait and Oman, is being screened throughout Ramadan, showing the joy that Ooredoo’s stickers and icons are bringing to people across the region.
